Generation Waking Up, a global campaign to ignite a generation of young people to bring forth a thriving, just, sustainable world, is seeking highly dynamic, passionate, and professional GenUp Program Leaders.

We are in an exciting period of growth as we expand our program offerings in high schools, colleges, and universities to ignite young people towards positive social action.

We are seeking GenUp Program Leaders to deliver our education programs including:

  • GenUp High School Assembly  (45min – 1 hour, groups of 100 – 1000)   The Generation Waking Up Assembly is an engaging, multimedia program exploring the magnitude of the challenges we’ve inherited, the creativity & innovative tools we bring, and how we can manifest the kind of future we want.
  • The WakeUp Experience (3 – 4 hours, groups of 10 – 500)   The Generation Waking Up Experience called a WakeUp for short – is GenUp’s flagship educational program. The WakeUp is a powerful, interactive, multimedia experience delving into the 4 questions: Who Are We? Where Are We? What Has to Change? and What Do We Do Now?
  • WakeUp Day  (5 – 7 hours, group of 10- 100)  The WakeUp Day is a deeper exploration into the story of our generation, the challenges & opportunities we face, and how we can take action for positive change. The WakeUp Day includes fun, experiential activities as well as community building exercises designed to break down barriers across difference. Students have the opportunity to explore and design collaborative action projects to address local issues in their schools and communities.

Type of Position: Part-time Contractor – Programs will be sparse and sporadic at first (possibly as little as 1 gig a month during the school season), with the potential to increase in frequency over time.

Location: Need to be based in or near the Bay area. Programs will mostly take place locally, but may also include travel to others parts of the country.

Start Date: As soon as available

Duration: Indefinitely, with commitment to be available for the next year

Compensation: $150 – $500 per event. Candidates must be willing to volunteer 20 – 40 hrs of training time before being eligible to work for paid events. Training includes extended one-on-one coaching with a seasoned facilitator
