Start a Thrive Circle

As part of our commitment to providing effective pathways for youth and students to connect, learn, and take action, GenUp is excited to begin piloting our new Thrive Circle model!

A Thrive Circle is a small group circle model for diverse changemakers to build community, engage in shared learning, and to take collaborative action toward a thriving, just, and sustainable world.

Circles are one of the oldest, most widespread, and effective tools for creating personal and social change. As Margaret Meade famously wrote, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

Making lasting change requires strong relationships, critical awareness, and committed action, but so many young people are isolated and do not have a support structure to aid them in creating the world they know is possible. What if we could empower one another with the information, skills, and capacities we need to unleash the creative action being called for at this momentous time in human history? Thrive Circles offer a simple and clear way to make this happen.

If you’re called to be part of creating positive change, consider starting a Thrive Circle at your school or in your community. Check out the beta Thrive Circle Organizing Guide and learn more about the different types of circles you can start today.
